And what about the iPod? Why has no one been able to knock it off its throne, after all these years?

That's because there is no throne. Does anyone still actually buy those?

Ya think so?

They sold over 35,000,000 iPods last fiscal year. Let's guestimate that their profit per iPod is $60. That yields a profit of about $2,100,000,000. I would guess that is more profit than any smartphone maker except Apple and Samsung.
