Andy:

The BMW Method is not mechanical. There are certain procedures we follow such as the charting and the due diligence but the actual purchasing decision has to come from each individual investor. Basically you place your first buy order when you think the price is pretty close to the bottom but before it actually gets to the bottom (except for IcyWolf but then, furry four footers do it different). As for the sell order, that is probably a bit more difficult. Do you need the money to make an new purchase? In that case you might sell sooner. You don't need the money and you feel confident the stock has a ways to go? You hold off on placing the sell order. Where is that magic sell point? Somewhere above average CAGR but again there is no specific point but probably under +1 RMS.

How is that for a definitive answer? :))
