This week I lost a 28-year-old cousin to liver cancer. Katie was a nurse and was working on her masters degree when she found out about the cancer in April. Her funeral was today.

Life can throw a person some strange curves. My bride was signing a condolence card for Katie and at the same time was signing a birthday card for her 90-year-old uncle.

It most certainly can, Bob.

So sorry for your loss. 28 is way too young to die.

Thank you all for your condolences.

Yesterday was a hard one to get through, even though it was a chance to catch up with all my cousins from up north. It seems like I only get to see them at weddings and funerals. The last time was two years ago, at Katie's wedding.

Sorry to hear about your loss Bob, yet how amazing to also have a 90 year old having a birthday, hopefully you got to hang with him to share the day....

Unfortunately he lives too far away for a birthday trip.
