another thing is unless someone doesn't have any relatives or hates the one they do have, including nieces and nephews, heck friends and their loved ones.......it would be a hard edged person who didn't care about the future of the country.....we're still living...and then we die. At the very least, one would want the country to do well before kicking the bucket.


I have no children, and indeed no living blood relatives left except for cousins. I'm pretty alone in the world.

Even so, I'd like to feel the assurance (and satisfaction) that my country will continue to be great, and prosperous, long, long after I'm gone. I do care about that. Although if I had kids, I probably would care a lot more than I currently do, because I'd have a personal stake in the future.
