Any estimates out there on the new rates for next month? It's a pretty fair bet that the rate on EEs will be a bit higher for the next 6-month period. The current rate is 2.61%. I'd guess the new rate will be somewhere in the 2.9% vicinity. Whether or not 0.3% annualized (for 6 months) is enough to wait for is your call.As for I Bonds, who knows? The CPI-U is currently running at almost exactly what it was for the last 6-month period. We'll have the definitive answer on that one in another couple of weeks. But will the fixed rate on I Bonds be raised? I'd be very surprised if the rate was lowered, so it's probably best to wait a month if you were planning on buying I Bonds.Ken
