Any suggestions (considering their age and relative risk issues) of where they might put that money would be appreciated. Thanks - Dan

Dan, I think that you'd better consider putting it into equity investments (stocks) at this late date, to make up for their not having begun building a nest-egg earlier. That is, assuming the risk is not too severe for all concerned.

Currently, return on investment ratio between stocks and mutual funds is roughly 3:1, which is potentially better than you'll do any where else.

This is meant as advice, not direction. A lot of your decision must be based on personal preferences and capabilities. Good luck.
