I am in need of some guidance on a bathroom re-do project. I am in the planning stages of replacing the wall material (some sort of quasi-water repellant panelling) that surrounds the bathtub. It seems to have a (half-inch?) thick plywood underlayer beneath the panelling. The third side (a small side) has a large acrylic fake window etched glass element that is held in place and bordered by 2x4's again covered in melamine panels that contains the plumbing for the shower fixture. Because this third area has a 4-inch or so ledging to it where this "window" is, I am thinking of replacing that portion with glass blocks, as the space seems to be a sure fit for those. How do I do this project of replacing the wall materials, and do I need to replace the under-plywood also as a standard mode of repair? What (horrors) will I possibly encounter once the exterior wall materials are removed? What the heck is under there anyway? Two of these walls are "exterior walls". Any help? I appreciate the replies! I hope this board is not dead!
Thanks again,
-Dolce
