Anyone have any idea how to get TT to properly classify the sales of these reinvested dividends?

Whether in interview or forms mode, you must treat the sale of reinvested dividends as two separate input sales, one for the short-term and one for the long-term. You may need to do some math on your own to make the split of what's on the 1099-B.
