Anyone know how to find out which insurance is supposed to pay first? Got in a car accident, I've got health insurance and car insurance that had a medical benefit, and it looks like it's getting messy. Much depends on whether you carried Auto Medical Payments coverage under your auto insurance policy, which tends to be an "indemnity" type of coverage and, generally, pays in addition and regardless of other medical coverage you may carry, or Auto Medical Expense Reimbursement coverage, with tends to supplement other health insurance coverage that you may carry - The later will pay, for example, the deductible and co-insurance that your health insurance doesn't pay. The former pays, up front, regardless of the health insurance that you carry, and most "regular" health insurance policies don't/shouldn't deduct for benefits paid under an "indemnity" type of policy. You might want to take this to TMF's Insurance discussion board, to help walk you through the matter, if you wish: http://boards.fool.com/insurance-life-car-homeetc-100156.asp...Best regards,Bob
