Anyone like/dislike or have any insight into investing in Earthlink? I'm an Earthlink customer and I am noticing Earthlink combined with Mindspring. #2 & #3 ISP's, but way behind AOL.

Here's the catch. MCI/Worldcom buys Sprint. Sprint & Earthlink have a very close relationship. I do not know the particulars, but I can get discounts if I switch to Sprint and Earthlink/Sprint logos are always together on the mailings. MCI/Worldcom I believe owns UUNET, one of the 5 internet backbones. Earthlink, now a solid #2 is introducing DSL service in 4 major markets..mmm. DSL is supposed to be like the office ISDN connection. FAST. The next step/standard after 56k? The current monthly DSL charge $49.95. The required hardware. Fairly minimal.

Who, if anyone, seems to have the systems to handle the next big wave/bandwidth into the world's home's via existing phone lines/internet service. Worldcom and its acquired company (Sprint)'s ISP service.

Smells like the future looks bright for ELNK.

What's the community's thoughts?
