I was just wondering if anyone even looks at this board anymore. I'm a new comer to TMF, and this board was one of my reasons for joining.

Well, I'll post my question and see if anyone is around...

It's a simple one, and not entirely based on Buffett. I was simply wondering, when doing an initial rate of return or the value of a company's stock relative to govt. bonds, what EPS should I use? Is it the 2002's year end, or the latest 3rd quarter tally, or the estimated 2003 EPS?

And say for example, if I use 2002's year-end EPS, do I use that year's final stock price or today's (2002 EPS / today's stock price)

Thanks for any answers to this basic question.
