anyone use AAA for auto insurance?

currently with USAA, have had State Farm, never realized AAA offered insurance products. Joined them because I needed an international drivers license (only place I could get one thru in the area I live in).

they came back with quotes approx 40% less than what USAA is currently charging, equivalents on the coverages.... Was surprisd....

now the question is, are they as good in terms of service/response as say a USAA?

now normally I believe when it comes to insurance, who you use is more important than 'how much you save' by going with the low cost carrier... and I don't mind paying a little extra for the 'peace of mind' because I have heard enough 'stories' to make it one thing I don't want to be dealing with if something happens.

USAA is a very good company, but if AAA offers equivalent 'service', would consider the move.. but $1400+ versus $800 for the same coverage???

almost sounds like one of those its too 'good to be true'...
