Apology accepted, pauleckler. An altogether understandable mistake on your part considering the gender-neutrality of my on-line moniker.

Another question, though, for you or anyone who cares to reply....

Given the recent volatility of most of the growth-type funds, and continuing uncertainty as to their ability to perform well, does anyone have any feelings, ideas, comments, etc. on the advisability of investing in REITs? I seem to be hearing more and more professional advisors touting these as good places to have your money in times of volatility.

I also know that one shouldn't "chase performance", and while my husband and I are definitely "buy and hold" type investors, I'm fretting that we have over-invested in technology-loaded funds. I can feel my Scottish ancestors turning over in their graves every time I look at my accounts and see the steady outward seepage of cashflow.
