Good evening,

In case you missed it TMF Tardior wrote an article about Tricon's earnings yesterday for our World News.

"Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: YUM), owner of the Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC brands, reported fourth-quarter operating earnings of $0.78 per share yesterday, devouring analysts' estimates of $0.66. The company drove operating earnings up 42% in the fourth quarter and 41% for the year. David C. Novak, chief executive officer, said, "These results are a clear reflection that we are continuing to successfully execute our operational and financial strategies." For all of fiscal 1999, earnings per share reached $4.09, up 40% from last year.

Still, the company has a long way to go. They have to find some way to generate earnings other than desiccating their revenue source. Yesterday's earnings showed reductions in total costs, but in the long run they will need a solid, growing revenue source. Investors would like to know what it will be."
