Are you sure you want to drive? Your profile says NoVa and the Amtrack really IS the civilized way to go. You'll probably save the cost of the train tickets against parking and tolls and catch the flavor of NYC riding the subway and taking cabs. We live about 50 miles from NYC and take the train up any chance we get. Otherwise, the suggestion about Weehawkin is good, but you're driving 250 miles to leave the car 1 mile from the city. I'd say do your best and don't valet. Having said THAT, valet provides a little extra protection finding the parking the first time (parking isn't always real near the hotel -- watch those valet kids running off when they get a key).
