arizonacat56: Yes. It is simple. Fill out a new account application and an account transfer form with another brokerage firm. Also give them a copy of your monthly statement from Morgan Stanley. The new firm will take care of the rest.
Where are you going to move your account?

I'm not sure yet. I want an account that would not cost me so much, but that I can hand carry the SEP checks monthly to a local branch, be it Schwab, or any of the others. Morgan Stanley moved my account from my financial advisor here in Columbia, SC to a young man in Greenville, and the service is just not there anymore. I am most disgruntled.

I also want to move my Active Assets account, as MSDW has increased their administrative fee for that one. On both accounts, I do not actively trade, as I am a LTBH. However, I do plan to purchase a couple of more stocks this year (am now into value investing at the age of 60).

Neither account is a wealthy one, as I received a bath during the tech meltdown, but they are improving. Each month I have $75.00 drafted into the Active Assets account, and my corporation deposits from $180 to $360 monthly in the SEP.

Any suggestions?
