It's so hard to lose the things we value that have such great sentimental value. Since you said it was in a mess on the floor, I assumed it shattered? I read an article recently about a lady who had a sentimental plate or dish shatter on her, and she used the pieces to mosaic tile a garden bench for her yard. It looked beautiful! I don't know if you or DH are handy, but you might be able to incorporate the pieces into something like that ------- ooooooh, maybe even a birdbath!

Just an idea. You of course will always have the memories.
