Once when she was visiting her grandmother (my aunt Carol who died last year) in the nursing home, Aunt Carol told her of a friend at the home who had just died in her 90s. The friend had told Aunt Carol, just before she passed on, that after she arrived at the pearly gates, she would leave the key under the mat for her so that Aunt Carol could find it when she arrived afterward. My cousin was caught off guard by this story, was uncomfortable and didn't quite know what to say. She finally said, "Well, Grandma, when you get there, make sure to check the door and see how hot it is before you open it."My Aunt Carol couldn't help but burst out laughing.
