I was reading an article on ABC and Iger's desire that the network develop more shows based on things Disney. Makes sense.

Yet, the article mentioned the failure of the movie "The Haunted Mansion" as a cautionary tale (i.e., don't turn ABC into one big Disney park commercial).

I wonder why Disney has never done the obvious (to my knowledge, anyway): make a horror-themed anthology show called "The Haunted Mansion" and have a Crypt-keeper like host introduce the tales. Could either be done on ABC for adults or Disney Channel for kids. The old "Tales From the Crypt" HBO show actually had a kid spin-off, an animated series that was on Saturday mornings (I believe it was on ABC, if I recall, although I could be wrong on that).
