As a long-suffering victim of United Health Care I have had to use both Quest Diagnostics and now LabCore for lab work. Interestingly Quest required me to prepay for all tests which meant that they did not have to rely on UHC paying them, leaving me with the endless task of trying to get reimbursed by UHC. Almost one year later and still counting. While it annoyed me no end that Quest did this, it made good business sense, assuming that UHC would delay in paying them as they do me. I still have contact with Quest in my attempts to answer UHC's endless requests for more information (i.e. there attempts to get me to give up)and I was told my a Quest employee that they did not deal at all with insurance companies any more. - whippoboy | Date: 5/18/2007 1:48:30 PM | Number: 197
What you were told by a "Quest Employee" is totally FALSE. I went to a Quest facility last week to have some tests done, ordered by my doctor. We paid nothing for the visit, just gave the Quest Lab my Insurnace Card which Quest copied. If Quest will not process the insurance claim, then they will not get paid and will do the tests for free.
