As a matter of fact, I was looking today.

The GE website indicates that the GE-A, etc., are not preferred stock but rather "mini-bonds" issued by GE Capital Corp. with face value of $25.

GE-A was trading at better than a 10 percent discount to face value earlier today.

I've already been doing some buying the past couple of days, including some GE common in the low 22s today. I may get some GE-A tomorrow, depending. I have had some CDs mature recently and am looking to re-deploy, selectively.

Happy shopping.
