As a taxpayer, I wish everyone used software and efiled. I have no interest in the IRS needing to fix peoples' errors. errors are indistinguishable from deliberate attempts to mis-state numbers, so IRS needs to check for them and fix them anyhow.I can certainly see an argument that the IRS should get out of the data-entry business - but I think tax software makers (and their lobbyists) are going to be strong opponents to that happening.
