As I am coming into this discussion slightly late, I am both posting and emailing my reply.

I have my IRA rollover at Vanguard; I think they are a great company, but I did want to make you aware of some fees. As jesserivera67 mentioned, there is $10 a year fee for each fund that has a balance less than $5,000. In addition to that, there is also a $10 a year fee for each index fund that has a balance less than $10,000. In other words, if you open 5 index funds each with $1,000 you will get charged $20 in fees for each fund for each year.

Now, with the very low Expense ratios on Vanguard's funds you are probably still going to make out better than if you opened your funds anywhere else, but I just wanted to make you knew about the

To verify this information, I called Vanguard's Retirement Resource Center at 1-800-669-8623 this evening. As I will be opening my Roth IRA sometime in the next month or two, I wanted to make sure that I had it straight for myself.

HTH,
MusicFish.
