As I sat in corporate meetings, it almost became comical. Not only did my detached view keep me calm in the midst of controversial discussions, but it all began to feel like an out-of-body experience - LOL.

LOL! I can totally relate to this. During my final months at my last job, I made myself view things like a novelist would (I'm an aspiring writer). My colleagues became characters, and every meeting and political tiff became fodder for the novel. It was a fun way to look at things, and it provided me with plenty of material for future use.

I feel so lucky to be in a new job where the people are great and *gasp* I'm actually enjoying my work again. No, it's not perfect, but it sure is better than my last situation. Everyone here is in the center lane, and it's so refreshing to work with people who have attitudes similar to mine. The irony is, I'm making just as much money, with fewer headaches and more personal time. Go figure!
