As long as there are more applicants than jobs, HR departments need to turn some people down. If you have two equally qualified candidates, one with a pristine credit history, and one with issues, who would you pick?

Even better, suppose you have one with an 800 score and another with 720, is there really a qualitative difference between the two?

How about one with a 720 and another who has always paid cash and therefore has little history to measure?
