As of today, my credit union is offerring 5-year CDs at 5.25% APY. The rate had been 4.75 from about mid-September until early January. Then it went to 5% for about 3 weeks. Last week it was 5.1%.

The last two months have seen large fluctuations in bond yields. It's not surprising that the roller coaster ride has partly transferred to the CD markets. Whether the improvements in yields continue remains to be seen.
