For those of you 55 or older, what's your equity/fixed allocation right now, and what's your age? I'll confess to getting more conservative than I was just a few months ago. I was 40% equities and 60% fixed, but I've moved up to 67% fixed and 33% equities over the past several months. I just turned 60, and our portfolio and whatever the government will let us keep from SS is all we have for the rest of our lives. For us, it's more important to keep what we have, than to worry about potentially losing a few points by having less in equities. Maybe some day down the road, I'll move the equity back up some, but for now, any increase in our equity allocation will have to come from appreciation.
