At some point, I think you said you didn't want to ask your family for money. Is this totally off the table? If not money, and you really aren't going to stop the storage, could family store it while you get on your feet?

Just throwing this out there...has your DH considered talking to your local county social services that does Medicaid, food stamps, etc? Medicaid is expanding a lot this year and they typically need staff to take and process applications.
