At the airport where I got my PPL, there's this little old taildragger - not sure exactly what it is - sitting abandoned and overgrown in the grass. They'd get rid of it, but the owner keeps paying for the space... Anyway, it was sitting there, tied down, facing north. Then we had a buttload of storms come through the area. Next time I was back there, the poor little plane (a high-wing) was upside down (on it's wings) facing west. Seems the tiedowns had rotted, and it just kinda pivoted on a wing. Musta scared the daylights out of the animals living in it.About a year or so ago I found out that my Great Uncle Fred was a pilot in WWII - he flew the Valiant Lady, the B-29 from which the pictures of the bomb going off at Hiroshima were taken. They were just told to fly about an hour behind the Enola Gay and take pictures. He once told me about when they were first being trained on the B-29. A whole bunch of pilots, none of whom had ever seen a plane anywhere near that big before. They just kinda looked at it, shook their heads, and said "No way can that thing fly." :-DKaiti
