ataxwitch,
LOL, "Ureasoning Fear of the Happy Birthday Song" :)

We don't do that here in NE Ohio. What a shame...I love cake. We do doughnuts and coffee at almost every meeting. We have clubs but I haven't been to one of those in a few years. We have people announcing month anniversaries! And others announce anniversaries for the whole month. All we get is applause :( (just kidding).

We had a great discussion at my new home group last night. We talked about the 11th tradtion (attraction rather than promotion). We all pretty much agreed that if we focused on the group's primary purpose (to carry the message), we needn't worry about either. I talked to a new person after the meeting. They said that people's attitudes and actions attracted them and motivated them to keep coming back. I thanked him for helping me which really surpised him. I explained that it was important for my own recovery that I share with everyone including new people. Sharing with new people especially reminds me of the basics and the steps. It helps me to keep things simple and to focus on the important.

I loved your last comment. So true. The program doesn't change just the minutiae.
