Awesome replies!!

I'd run for office but I'd have to run as an independant. Of course if anyone looked up my background, I would never get in...all the sex and drugs and rock n roll...

oh wait..we have had the sex in Clinton and have the drugs in Bush!

I am a shoe-in!!

I don't mind having taxes, as long as the money is well-spent. The Feds are about as frugal and about as consciensious as your average gerbil. Hey, they are dealing with "OPP" - other people's property. They didn't earn the money that they are spending - we did! They don't seem to remember that.

My thing is that we ARE gonna pay taxes - heck we live in a great, industrialized country. Fine. However, the state level is where more work gets done more efficiently. Sure, they do dumb things too at the city & state level (like the new Busch Stadium - but that's a whole different rant), but at leas tthey do them faster.

One of the things that bothers me is an article I read, about here in St. Lou, and it seems pervasive around the nation. They tore down part of the projects with the intent to build a "neighborhood" type area for Mixed-income people.(You know some Yuppies and some low-income) At first they proposed 200 low-income it's down to 80. Now it's in court. Meanwhile, the USA is going on another "Star Wars" debacle. Didn't we first start researching that thing in the Reagan 80's. (Don't get me wrong, I like national defense, but I think it would be better if the grunts were paid more and their families did not have to use food stamps!)

What we have here is a failure to communicate. We don't speak..or at least not with one voice. Even if we do get one voice, the cash registers in the eyes of our polititians when Enron, Boeing and other PACs show up.

I wonder if there is a lawsuit that could be filed against PACs. Could a lawsuit be brought against them for interfering with the right of free-speech of regular Americans who do not have all that $ laying around? First amendment and all that, ya know.
