Its doubtful that I will be able to grow grapes on my property (lots of shade and the thermometer on the deck read 6 degrees F this morning), but I am seriously thinking about scoring some grapes in the fall, possibly as the result of a road trip to the folks at (anyone have a closer source, maybe hudson valley? Is it a faux pas to call a winery and ask if they'd sell me some grapes?).

In preparation for the real thing, I am planning on doing a kit wine just to get familiar with wine fermentation, etc. I'm a VERY experienced homebrewer, so it shouldn't take much to make the leap. Anyone tried a Brew King kit? I'm thinking about a "Selection" kit from them. I also saw aseptically packaged Italian juice from Mosti (company name). Heard anything on this?
