Barbara: I think you hit on something, yes, part of this is that I have been ready to move for 3 years. Then I got married and now together, we both want to move, however, our financial system went downhill and we feel stuck. I really don't want to rent when we can own, if possible. I don't want to move twice, either.

The dogs are big in the equation. I always ask about dogs. Colorado is a big dog loving place and you can find plenty of places that take dogs. Personally, I want either a yard or a low-rise building that doesn't require too many floors. A balcony is a must in a low-rise (like 10 floors or less)

DH REALLY wants to live in a condo. He does nothing in the yard, doesn't see it, doesn't like the work, I end up doing it all, it is my house and in my name only, btw.

I think part of this decision is not financial but I was hoping it would be! Darn. There are so many things we don't like about this house that stare us in the face daily. It gets depressing. But we also want to be smart about money.
