Base property taxes are probably lower in CA (prop 13) but all other taxes are much higher - gas, income tax, sales tax, local taxes...you get used to it.

sales tax --higher rate and no exemption for fuel or clothes

gas tax -- higher (even if they included sales tax ..plus we have the indirect tax of having 'special' gas)

cigarette tax less !! (slightly lower liquor tax --from another site)

income tax -- less on lower income; much more on higher incomes (exemptions etc to complicated to parse)

property tax --too complicated to figure out.

... i'm guessing more ..maybe much more. About equally regressive.

I like my life quit a bit (I feel very blessed and lucky) and don't fret about taxes most of the time

that's what really matters ...

.... some people just do not want to pay taxes ..and don't care what it costs ..
