We have a Sony HDTV that is over 6 years old and the technology has improved enough that I am ready to get a new panel. Today, after a good bit of reading, we went to a local HH Gregg and came home with an LG LM7600 - 47 inch size. The picture is stunning. But the remote needs waving to do anything. I guess LG thinks users want to exercise with the controller. Personally I have zero use for the built in Smart TV stuff. I have an Apple TV which connects to an HDMI port. Don't need or want all the stuff - I don't mind having it, but the menu system is built on/with all those functions.

So my question - anybody have a suggestion for a new panel with a good image, a normal push button remote and either no Smart TV features or a decent menu system that does not require one to deal with a couple dozen options merely to change inputs or adjust brightness.
