I have owned a mutual fund for several years, and have just let shares accumulate in it by dividend reinvestment, etc. Now, I am about ready to cash out my shares. How do I calculate my total basis for this investment? I know that it will be more than what I originally spent, but I don't know exactly how to calculate the cost basis for the profits that have been reinvested.
