beamer, Although I agree wholeheartedly with you, I thought you'd like to know that some high paying high-tech government-contract jobs in D.C. require a MAXIMUM of between 40 and 45 hours/week. And you are encouraged by management to NOT WORK MORE than that. Why? ...contract labor rates. In a nut shell, if the contract specifies someone to work 40 hours a week, and they work 50 then the govt. isn't required to pay any more than 40 hours/week. It actually is a sweet deal and some internal performance incentives are tied to it.
