Because CDs have distorical mirored to some extent the Fed funds Rate, it looks like yields are going to go down. Should one wait for a January CD sale at Pen Fed or buy now? any ideas? We have no reason to believe Pen Fed fire sales will happen in the future. I believe the highest for 2008 was 5%, which is what it is now.I don't know what will happen with intermediate to long term yields. Obviously the Fed is trying to push rates down across the board, and it does affect short term rates, but the government will be borrowing massive amounts of money, and a lot of other countries are doing the debt thing too, so I don't know that the world will be so awash in surplus capital that it can keep US yields down.
