Because it is an adjustment (reduction) in income due to disability pay offset in my Army pension. All the rest of the line items in the Adjustment section actually have a named/identified use/category. Then you get to the line named "Other". I suspect that the IRS wants to know what "Other" you are deducting from your income for.
I just rolled over and paper filed today. Included the letter of explanation from the VA citing IRS Ruling 78-161. Just takes a few weeks longer to get the refund. I had gotten so used to efiling that I was spoiled - lol
