Because this started over the poster who suggested I should make an exception to Girl Scouts when I showed the link to the "no solicitation" sign that's worked for me in cutting down on people who knock on my door.I don't buy a lot of things - just like many on this board don't buy a lot of things - so why does it matter if I announce I no longer buy Girl Scout cookies?It doesn't. Not really. But I think what I would have done would be to include a long list of other charity groups that sell door-to-door: the people who sell Christmas wrap, and giant chocolate bars, three flavors of popcorn, and so on. Or just ignored the comment.I don't mean to keep going on and on about your post; I just wanted to explain that sometimes a quiet response, or ignoring the question, is a way to keep the board temperature down.Nancy
