Before I remembered which board I'm reading, I kept hoping that someone...ANYONE...would suggest that the car owner pick up the phone and call the police. Maybe the car would have been stolen anyway, but that's what insurance is for. And don't tell me the owner of a big SUV wouldn't have it. But ALL of you seem to prefer a dead human being (being a thief doesn't mean he isn't human, even though he's not a good one) over a stolen car. What a callous reaction!

Some PA Troll

You have made me see the light. Afterall it is not fair that some people can afford to purchase big SUVs while other people are limited to taking public transit. That greedy mean SUV owner (no doubt a Republican) should have let the poor person have his SUV. Afterall the SUV owner must be rich and can go out and buy a replacement SUV. Think how this action would stimulate the economy.
