If it's news you want, MSN Money has a great alert service that will email you regarding a multitude of parameters and news events (e.g. price is below or above X, analyst has up/down graded or Reuters Research Alert) and if you have a Hotmail account you can access these alerts from any computer in the world. You can usually discern the content of the email from the Subject line which saves time. Here is the full list of content choices:

Price/Volume Settings Tips Trigger Send an alert if $ Up, $ Down The price changes by more than this dollar amount (based on the previous day's closing price) % Up, % Down The price changes by more than this percentage (based on the previous day's closing price, rounded to nearest .5) $ Above, $ Below The price exceeds or falls below this value (rounded to nearest .05) Volume The daily trading volume exceeds this amount (rounded to nearest 500) Time Settings Tips • All Time settings must use eastern time (ET). • Quotes supplied by Standard & Poor's ComStock, Inc. and are delayed at least 20 minutes. • To receive closing market prices, set Time1 or Time2 to 4:30 PM ET. • Setting a time alert to 4:30 PM ET means if you are in the: • Central time zone you will receive the alert at 3:30 PM Central. • Mountain time zone you will receive the alert at 2:30 PM Mountain. • Pacific time zone you will receive the alert at 1:30 PM Pacific. Event Settings Tips • Not all events will be available for all symbols • Events may only occur rarely for some symbols.
