Ben Carson suggested that Progressives could turn America into Nazi Germany:

So earlier today, someone used Joseph Mengele in an example, speaking of Ben Carson.

And the right went nuts, suggesting that:

1. Someone called Ben Carson a Nazi (they didn't)

2. It's just bad taste to even hint that Ben might be, could be, possibly might be a Nazi..

.... even though Ben himself has made liberal use of the "Nazi" metaphor to actually describe liberals.

An odd world we live in, no?

Yes, especially when a 1 or 2 line reply is referred to as "going nuts". Your side lost by going Godwin in bringing up Carson and comparing him to a Nazi in the first place (he had zero to do with that thread). You may put the shovel down now.
