really.
I found out yesterday that I lost a pregnancy. I had a missed miscarriage and thought I was going in for a regular 11 wk appointment. The OB couldn't find the heart beat and the embryo measured only 8 wks 6 days. Needless to say, I was very, very upset (and still am).
DH and I got home from the appointment, fed the dogs, and then I bribed them with rawhide chips to keep them settled while I sat on the couch and cried. My big lab Chester took his chewy to his bed which lay about 5-6 ft away from where I sat.
I cried for not even a minute before I found his head on my lap. Chester had abandoned his chewy for me. In the 8 years I have owned him, that dog has NEVER left a chewy. Of course, he kept looking over at it and when I started laughing, he ran back to it. Then I started crying again, and he came back to me, albeit still keeping an eye on that chewy. Finally I told him, "Just go get it." He ran back to his bed, grabbed his chewy, and returned to me, tail wagging.
I love that dog.
