I am planning on retiring next fall and maintaining two homes; one in southern California and one in Phoeniz, AZ.

The question is, which state is better from a tax point of view to make my home state? I am currently a resident of California.

Consider car license, real estate taxes, state income taxes, basic auto and home insurance, etc.

Any one done any home work in this arena or is there some place I can go to look?
