I finally got around to playing BF3 after picking it up on sale for I think $20 a few months ago and I'm really liking it so far. The campaign was excellent, and the gameplay is really smooth and nice looking.

I've played a few multiplayer matches so far and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well I'm doing. I really struggled with COD Black Ops, but in my first couple hours of BF3 I've got a K/D ratio of around 0.6 which is high enough to still be fun and encouraging since I haven't unlocked much and still tend to shoot people in the knees instead of the head. Hopefully that keeps up. Hopefully I can do some more organized squad play at some point...

I also managed to resist the urge to upgrade my computer. It's two years old, so a little too soon to be wanting to make changes I think. I did order some new fans in an effort to make a bit quieter...hopefully a cheap little quality of life fix will hold me over. BF3 actually works very well even on average 2 year old hardware. My framerate on the original borderlands was a problem so that surprised me a bit.
