bjreese: I noticed the same problem, and believe you are correct in your understanding and that TurboTax is wrong. I used the overide capability to change those entries.

Since I am also unsure about this I have submitted a question to the IRS requesting clarification (using the feature on their web site). I've also submitted a problem report to Quicken. It will be interesting to see what if any response I get from either.

I'm honored to be the recipient of your First FOOL Message, Bob. Thanks. And thanks for confirming the perception. Do you think it's possible that we're the only users to have discovered this?! Most people would not even know to go looking for such a thing, and the program seems so "right" about everything else.

By the way, I also admire you for getting through Quicken's maze to give them feedback. Let me know, please what you hear (if anything). I'll let you know if I learn anything from my accountant or other sources. I've also posted the question on the message board at (which is a great resource, if you've not seen it).
