I just spent a little time examining Bank of America's CD rates/duration. I was shocked, yes shocked by how low the rates are, even going out to 5 years or longer. Heck, my limited term tax-exempt fund at Vanguard has a higher return than the before tax value of the 5-year CDs at BOA. I guess BOA is no long in the business of providing a useful service to it's account holders. I've been with BOA going back to the 60s. Maybe it's time to rethink that.
