When you invest money into bond funds such as Vanguards is there a time frame that you must leave the money in so when you withdraw it you won't be penalized. Is the time frame different depending on whether it's a short term, intermediate or long-term fund? If there isn't a penalty then why not go into the long-term fund, which seems to pay a higher rate of interest. I feel this is a question I should know the answer to but I have never thought about it and someone ask me today and I had to admit I had never given it any thought. Thanks Bob
