Thanks to Sir Das for answering my query. However, additionally, I m curious about differences btw. Bond funds vs. Securities funds and generally among themselves. What's the basic difference btw. stable value bond fund, income bond fun, institutional class, and TIPs? And if you should hold a bond fund in a taxable account, is it treated the same taxwise as a stock fund. I guess they pay dividends monthly and not quarterly as with stock funds, but should you sell them, is it just like a capital gain in a stock index fund or are the dividends taxed the same too. (I am thining of how Treasuries themselves are not state and locally taxable.)
